Make It Monday #175: Creative Card Borders Using Non-Border Dies

Hi there!  I have had so much fun with PTI's challenge this week that I decided to create two cards.

For the first card I used the PTI Butterfly Dreams stamp set and dies.  First, I stamped the dies with the monarch butterfly using silver ink.  Next, I colored the white space on the butterfly with a pale pink marker.  Then, I used the small solid butterflies to stamp a background on the card front. I added a small pink square with a sentiment stamped in silver.  I finished it off with some silver sparkle trim and pink diagonal stripe paper inside of the card.

The PTI Warm Happiness stamp set and dies was used for the second card.  First, I cut the dies and stamped the cups with brown and tan ink.  Next, I cut a piece of patterned paper to put on the front of the card.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment on the card with brown ink.

  1. I love both of your cards, Bonnie! The butterfly one is so fun while the one with coffee cups looks very cozy.

  2. Gorgeous elegance with the pink and silver. Warm and toasty with the cups! Great cards, Bonnie!

  3. Love both your cards! The butterflies are so soft and pretty with the pink and silver and the coffee cups just make a really cool border...great job on both! I'm not sure I've ever visited your blog before, but just wanted to tell you I LOVE the name of your blog that you've taken from Proverbs...VERY COOL! :0)

  4. Marcia, my blog is new. Thank you so much for stopping by. I really appreciate your sweet comments. Thanks and God bless!

  5. Lovely cards. Warm Happiness is one of my favourite sets...how did you separate the dies?

    1. These work great and Amazon has them on sale:
