Experimenting with Gelatos

While browsing in Michael's yesterday, I noticed the Gelatos coloring set my Faber Castell and thought it might be fun to try it.  Many of you are already familiar with this medium and have used it to create beautiful cards, canvases, and more.  I decided to cut a card front from plain white cardstock and experiment with the Galatos sticks.  I purchased a four pack of these in the Tropical colors.  First, I made random color designs, covering the entire piece of cardstock.  Next, I used the included brush to light brush over my coloring with water.  I noticed that you need to be careful not to blend the colors too much.  When I was happy with my creation, I let it dry for an hour or so.  I decided that some butterflies would look good with the watercolor look of the Gelato painted card front.  I die cut two butterflies from a sheet of bright pink cardstock.  Then, I  trimmed down that sheet and used it to cover the watercolor sheet.  I used black ink to stamp the sentiment on the card and to stamp over the butterflies to help them stand out.  Using the Gelatos was fun and I like the look that they created for my card.

Supplies used:  Papertreyink cardstock in white and raspberry fizz, Papertreyink Butterfly Dreams stamps and die, Gelatos 4 pack in Tropical, Dew Drops Mementos ink in Tuxedo Black
