Make It Monday #198: Three Panel Cards

This week at PTI, Ashley shows us how to create a three-panel card using 8 1/2 x 11 inch cardstock.  You can actually make two of these cards from one sheet of cardstock.  See the link to this week's video below.

Isn't this the cutest thing!  The colorful polka-dots are precious and I just love how she tied it all up with the plain twine.  Using this card and Ashley's directions as a guide, here's what I created:

I choose this cheerful patterned paper for the outside of my card and decided to go with limeade ice and Hawaiian shores as accent colors.  I cut the border using a Sizzix die and rounded the corners of my text box.  I punch the circle and the scallop with paper punches and die cut the butterfly.  I selected this sentiment from the PTI Cheerful Heart stamp set and the butterfly is from Butterfly Dreams.  The butterfly's swirl trail is actually from Freshly Fallen.  Once the outside was assembled, it was time to focus on the inside of my card.

First I cut the same patterned paper to cover the top and bottom panels.  Next, I used Hawaiian shores for the center panel and decided to cover it with limeade ice.  I stamped my butterflies using the same coordinating ink colors.  I choose the verse and stamped it on vellum using Hawaiian shores ink.  I decided to place a piece of limeade ice cardstock behind the vellum so that the words would be easier to read.  After putting it all together, I added the green dots in each corner.  Finally, I stuck a rectange of limeade ice cardstock on the bottom panel for a hand written note.
