PTI April Blog Hop Challenge

Hello friends!  I am thrilled to be able to share my projects for the PTI April Blog Hop Challenge with all of you today.  This month's challenge is to take inspiration from the photo below to create an original project.  I absolutely love this combination of navy, white, and various shades of pink!

Blog hop inspiration

This photo is so beautiful and inspiring, that I got a bit carried away with my projects.  Not to mention that I received my April order this week and I just had to use some of my new stamps and dies!

First up is a sweet little gift bag that I will use as a thank you for teacher appreciation week.  I was anxious to use my new Enclosed:  Apple die and the Shaker Shapes Pencil die and decided why not use the color combo from the inspiration photo and use my project for the Blog Hop.  Here are the products I used:  Enchanted Evening, Smokey Shadow, and Classic Kraft cardstock, Mini dot vellum, Pink patterned papers by Heidi Swapp, a Raspberry Fizz button, and baker's twine.  The pencil was adhered to the bag using scor-tape, but I decied to created a tag from the apple and simply clip it on with a miniature clothes pin.  This was such a fun project!  I plan to stuff the bag with shreaded paper and insert a gift card.  We will be making more of these in various color combinations since my daughter actually has more than one teacher.

Next, is a simple "Think of You" card.  I was inspired by the white vase from the inspriation photo to create a background of embossed dots.  I used Enchanted Evening, Stamper's Select White, Raspberry Fizz, and Sweet Blush cardstock.  The sentiment and flower are from the new Graceful Greetings stamp set.  I used Rapsberry Fizz and Spring Moss ink.

Lastly, I made these mini thank you cards.  Again, I took my color cue from the inspiration photo.  I used Enchanted Evening and Hibiscus Burst cardstock and polka dot and chevron vellum.  The flowers and leaves are cut using Tinsel and Tags dies and stamps with the Tinsel and Tags Sprigs stamps.  I used Spring Moss, Hibiscus Burst, and Spring Rain ink.  The banner was cut using a Keep it Simple Frame die and the thank you sentiment is from Heart-2-Heart #3.

I hope you enjoyed viewing these projects and that they have provided a bit of inspiration to you today.  Thanks for stopping by and follow me for additional card creations and crafty project inspiration!

PTI MIM # 209: White on White Die Cuts with a Pop of Color

Today's MIM challenge was to create a card using white on white die cuts with a pop of color.  You can find the link to the video below:

For this challenge, I pulled out my white card stock and Songbird dies.  First, I die cut several white birds.  Then I decided to cut one bird from Berry Sorbet card stock.  I simply glued the white die cut birds onto a white card base.  Then I used foam tape to adhere the Berry Sorbet songbird.  Lastly, I stamped the "Thank You" sentiment using Berry Sorbet ink.  This was a really quick and easy project and I will definitely be using this technique again!

Make It Monday #208: Ombre Stamping

Hi there, friends!  This was a really fun challenge!  Follow the video link below to join it this week's challenge:

I am so excited to share what I've created.  Instead of a traditional card, I decided to make these inspirational bookmarks.

I used a Heidi Swapp stencil to create the chevron background.  I sponged on my colors using a blending tool.  I decided to go with a gradient ombre look and opted for one bookmark in greens and blues and another in pinks and yellows.  I stamped each bookmark with a verse from "Cheerful Heart" and attached the flags to the bookmark dies, adding sheer ribbon as the finishing touch.

City Crafter Challenge #225: Polka Dots

http://citycrafter.blogspot.com/2015/03/city-crafter-challenge-blog-week-255.html

Hey there fellow crafters.  Whew!  I almost missed the boat on this one.  I had made my card last week, but became so busy with my little ones, work, a birthday party to host, and Easter festivities, that I nearly forgot to post my blog.  So, I sit here sleepily, typing away.  I had meant to use this card for PTI's Make It Monday as well; however, it just did not happen my friends.  This is my polka dot creation.  I combined one of the "Hugs" dies with the Enclosed:  Flower die and used Hawaiian Shores cardstock as my base color.  Next, I put a polka dot print paper behind my cutout.  I added some polka dot stripes as well as white, harvest gold, and new leaf stripes (all PTI colors).  The little white flowers were cut with a die from "Songbirds" and I added the small enamel dots (from Michael's).
